MEET THE MP
Duane Smith is the Member of Parliament for North West St. Andrew, a role he has held since his election in November 2024 and reaffirmed by re-election in 2025. A proud alumnus of Wolmer’s Boys’ School and Hillel Academy, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from Florida International University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
Before entering Parliament, Mr. Smith served with distinction as Councillor for the Chancery Hall Division in the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) from 2012 to 2024. His leadership has extended across both public and private sectors, with substantive board appointments spanning Jamaica’s key industries—energy, mining, culture, and wellness. He has served as Chairman of Wigton Windfarm Limited and as a Director of the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica, the CHASE Fund, Jamaica Bauxite Institute, PETCOM, Rural Electrification Limited, and the Face Place Institute.
Mr. Smith is also the Chief Executive Officer of Karleen Smith & Co. Ltd., a family-owned catering enterprise with a proud 50-year legacy of excellence in service.
Deeply rooted in family values, he continues to build on a strong legacy of hard work and entrepreneurship that has shaped his outlook and leadership. He shares this journey with his wife, Kimika, whose grace and unwavering support have been integral to his personal and professional successes. The couple resides in Kingston, St. Andrew, where they remain actively engaged in business, philanthropy, and public service.
